Why Critical Race Theory Is True

Critical Race Theory is the idea or belief that Western Culture preferentially benefits Whites. History is looked at as a record of how White Culture has always given the White race an edge in Western nations. White Supremacy is the linkage between Western culture and those who are most likely to benefit from it, namely its inventors. Whites designed the culture of the West and so we designed it to reflect our values, needs and desires. Regardless of how many Blacks and other peoples succeed in the West, the design of our culture is the product of White people, and we developed a system that reflected who we are and how we think. Western culture reflects the priorities and values of Western White people — history demonstrates that this must be so as well as logic.

White people did not develop the cultures of Africa nor those of the East. These are the products of their peoples and races.

It is easy to look at the US as an example of the supposed neutrality of Western Culture. Obama was elected twice to the office of the Presidency, one of the least capable persons in the country is now vice president under Biden. Her only qualifications for the job are that she is east Indian, Black, a woman, a member of a racialized minority and she is a person of color; all vitally important qualities to have to hold a position in the Biden administration.

Many governors, Senators, mayors, police chiefs, District Attorneys and so on are Black. Some of the most successful singers, influencers, sports stars, actors and others are Black. Black people are also successful as lawyers and businesspeople. Nigerians are the highest earning category in the US. But still, White people have privilege because their culture preferentially rewards Whiteness. It may be difficult for some Whites to see this or admit it. It is natural to ask, why in a nation and culture where so many non-Whites have succeeded, sometimes far beyond what most White people can aspire to, is it that Western culture is still accused of preferentially, benefitting White people. There is an answer to this reasonable question.

White culture benefits White people because White people have no problem embracing White culture. The reality is that White culture benefits anyone who embraces it. On the other hand. White culture only benefits those who embrace it and to the level that it is embraced. Other peoples are penalized, because they cannot embrace their cultural motifs and succeed with the same level of success as people who embrace White culture do. Even China and Russia were forced to embrace at least some of the principles of the West to succeed to the level they have. No one has found a way to succeed in any other way than by embracing the culture of the West. The choice is to live as a White person or to fail. Easy for Whites to do, less easy for other cultures and peoples.

Few persons who reject Western culture, in whole or in part, succeed to the level and degree those who have embrace White culture do. This fact is so obvious that White nations and people who do not embrace White culture to the level those in the US have, will move to the US to experience greater opportunity. What we really ought to ask is what makes Western culture special and is there a better, more pure form of it than what is seen in the United States? If the U.S. is the best version of Western culture that is available but Western culture is the best culture known, is there an upgrade which could be embraced, considering the problems the U.S. still has? It is not argued that what the West has is the best of all possible cultures only that it has served as the best approximation, to date.

Other civilizations have come and gone. Can we learn something from these? Is there a thread that runs through successful civilizations that can be brought to fruition in a new way of living?

White culture or Western culture leads to a success not possible elsewhere. It has replaced older ways of living. But these were still ways the West dominated. This has been true at least since the Grecian times.

The West, at its roots, rejects the militarist doctrines of the East. Despite the military successes of the West and its historic dominance on the battlefield, the military successes of the West are a minor part of part of its superior tactics and methodologies. Life Coaches teach people how to live as a Westerner. No one teaches the life skills of being a Sanskrit scholar or successful communist. Few persons learn a second language other than English. English and British culture and its derivatives are the gateway to success in the West.

Despite its detractors few people who are ambitious see a better path to success than adopting the habits of Westerners.

The desire to live in the West is the desire to benefit from Western culture. Denial of Critical Race Theory denies the reality we all have observed. The more one commits to Western culture, the more likely one will succeed. History is largely the history of Whites, as the progenitors of Western culture. The important, eon marking events are events of White culture. This is historically true. It is useless to deny it. A history of another race or culture while important to that race and culture would not give us much insight to why the world is as it is today. Critical Race Theory is right about this aspect of history. We cannot understand history without making the history of Whites the central thread. Race matters because the most successful culture has had the greatest impact on the planet. Its absurd to argue otherwise.

This is natural for Whites to embrace their historic and cultural legacy. To become embedded in Western tropes is often a learned behaviour for other peoples. It is an historic reality that those peoples and races that are peripheral to Western culture must adjust to Western culture if they wish to embrace it. This ought not be difficult to understand or accept.

What is true about Western culture is not true about other cultures. You do not have the same chance of success by going to China and embracing its culture and practices. There is no flood of migrants to the east because the East is viewed as a dead-end.

Success is not impossible for non-Whites, but success in the West means living like a westerner whether one is White or Black, Red or Yellow. However, adopting White culture requires the proselyte abandon their parents’ values and culture, if one is not White.

It’s a dichotomy. White culture is the culture of success, but to succeed in it, is to become White if in everything but skin colour. White people have an edge over other races because Whites are embedded in their culture from birth. There is a small percentage of other races that are brought up deeply embedded in the values of the West, who are equally able to succeed, but few liberals consider this an important fact to consider. White supremacy is inherently tied up in the supremacy of White culture in the mind of a liberal and so any other race that is brought up in White culture and succeeds is simply passed over. Such people are not considered as examples of the experience of a racialized minority. The uncomfortable fact is that anyone can succeed in White culture but only if and when they fully embrace its principles.

What is it about Western culture that gives it the edge over all other ways of living? White culture is not superior because it is a product of White people. The reverse is closer to the truth. Whites succeed because their culture gives them a decided advantage over those of other cultures.

Before we answer what makes Western culture the success it is, we have to understand there are only two possibilities when it comes to devising a culture. There may be a number of ways these two fundamentally different cultures can and are manifest, but at root the differences between cultures are superficial.

Canadian, American and English culture are all unique from one another, but they share the same root. The cultures of the East and south are different from each other and from the cultures of the West, but they share a fundamental feature.

White supremacy is at heart a superior technical device for ensuring people perform at the highest level.

What White culture does, that is not done in other cultures to the same degree, is that Western culture is founded on a commitment to equality. But we also reject equity or all justifications for freeloading.

People in the West are rewarded for what they do. Western culture does not provide a justification for social ownership of the means of production. This distinction is not easily observable as there is no purely Western culture and Eastern cultures have had to pay some attention to the ways of the West, just to survive. But the division is still very real.

Whites resist freeloading. We do not have the cultural excuses for failure the East has. Consequently, Whites also do not hinge their culture on the tactics and methods of the military. This is extremely important. Despite the military successes of the West, the cultures of the West are not centered on the use of military force. The West preferentially resorts to the forces of the market. This is why the military, in the West, is always subject to civilian authority, not the other way around.

To understand the supremacy of White culture the reader has to understand the logic of equality. Hierarchies are attractive to winners but not to all those under them. Competition does produce winners, but it also produces many more losers. Military forces can win battles but only at the cost of all pretence at equality.

History can and ought to be seen through the prism of equality. To link equality with White culture is to distort the truth. White culture was historically the primary advocate for equality, but Whites are hardly the only people to promote and fight for equality.

All Critical Race Theory does is acknowledge that Whites have historically advocated for equality and benefitted from this. History ought to see Western culture in this light. We need to see history as a struggle for equality and culture as a reward for those who work hardest in this area. Whites have always striven against those of a militaristic and elitist frame of mind. The desire for equality must transcend race and culture and become the desire of individuals. All peoples everywhere deserve to be equal, but we cannot get it through military engagements or state policies. Only equality can generate equals and only equal individuals will provide equality to all persons, but as individuals, not as intersectional groupings.
